Our 3-2-1 Hybrid Working Model

  • 3 days from anywhere in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand per week,  
  • 2 days from an RACP office location per week,  
  • 1 of the two days per week in office spent with your team.  

Job Description

The Role

The Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (AFPHM) offers training, continuing education, advocacy and a platform for Fellows and trainees across Australia and New Zealand.

Reporting to the Manager, Faculties the Executive Officer, AFPHM will provide full operational support and administration to the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine.

The Executive Officer, AFPHM will be responsible for:

  • With the Manager of Faculties, manage relationships with all AFPHM members and with the College, in particular the Faculty Council and Executive Committee; ensuring they are well supported
    Planning and delivery of major events and projects for the Faculty, working collaboratively with business units across the College
  • Provision of high-level secretariat management to the AFPHM Council, its committees and various working parties
  • Support AFPHM Council in setting and delivering their strategic priorities for the year and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities of RACP
  • Coordination of all AFPHM communication channels as well as the promotion of key AFPHM events
  • Management of Faculty inbox and drafting of all relevant correspondence, effectively addressing issues as they arise in a timely manner
  • Monitor and advise on RACP By-laws and Faculty By-laws and Terms of Reference.

The Successful candidate

In addition to your experience in a support role within a similarly complex, political, multi-stakeholder environment, you will also have:

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in business administration and secretariat management
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), negotiation and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for outcomes, while also collaborating as part of a team
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
  • Attention to detail
  • Project coordination skills
  • Event management skills
