Our 3-2-1 Hybrid Working Model

  • 3 days from anywhere in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand per week,  
  • 2 days from an RACP office location per week,  
  • 1 of the two days per week in office spent with your team.  

Job Description

About the Role

The Product Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire life-cycle of assigned digital products, from planning and development to evaluation and potential retirement with a particular focus on the technology supporting continuing professional development. This role ensures that products continuously deliver value to members while balancing user needs, technical feasibility, and organisational priorities.

Success in this role requires a design-oriented mindset, a big-picture perspective, and a curious and open approach to problem-solving. The Product Manager thrives in ambiguity, embracing complexity to explore innovative solutions. They are a technologist at heart, understanding how digital tools and platforms can enhance user experiences while remaining collaborative and adaptable to changing needs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead, plan, coordinate, and execute application programs and associated projects, ensuring effective communication, risk management, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Provide operational leadership, guiding the development path for digital products and ensuring their long-term stability and growth.
  • Ensure the product is well-maintained, minimising technical debt and ensuring long-term service stability.
  • Validate and test new ideas, integrating them into program strategies and workflows.
  • Collaborate with program teams and the product owner to ensure products effectively support member needs and strategic goals.
  • Manage external service and maintenance providers, ensuring high-quality delivery against contracts. Undertake relevant procurement activities as required.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including team members, program teams, and senior leadership, to improve product outcomes.
  • Support teams in monitoring and reporting on product performance and development status, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Work closely with UX designers and Digital Learning Team to ensure software/product solutions deliver an intuitive and user-friendly experience, providing input on user flows, wireframes, and design iterations.

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Experience

  • Minimum four years of experience in product management, working in digital product design and development teams.
  • At least three years of experience in product leadership within an Agile environment, with a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and iterative development.
  • Proven experience leading Scrum activities, design thinking workshops, and sprints, applying these methodologies to drive product innovation.
  • Demonstrated understanding in digital learning and educational design workflows and how digital products support learning experiences.
  • Previous experience working in-depth with product design, either within industry settings or educational technology providers, ensuring user-centred product development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse stakeholders, including technical teams, leadership and program teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in both team-based and individual settings, effectively engaging members, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
