Job Description
The position sits within the Education Development and Improvement Unit in the Education, Learning and Assessment Directorate. The EDI unit is responsible for curriculum development, Training Management Platform (TMP) business support and a range of education renewal initiatives. TMP is the RACP’s new online system for managing training. It is used by trainees, supervisors, and other staff to handle administrative tasks related to training, such as submitting applications, managing requirements, and tracking progress. The platform supports the new training program curricula.
The Business Support Lead provides expert operational and process support for the Training Management Platform (TMP), ensuring system configuration and usage align with business rules, training requirements, and user needs. Acting as a subject matter expert, this role bridges the gap between business operations and system functionality, contributing to backlog refinement, process optimisation, and continuous improvement. This role is a 12 month fixed term contract.
Key accountabilities
Operational Support & SME Input
Maintain processes for issue resolution, escalation, and troubleshooting.
Ensure system configuration and workflows align with training policies and business rules.
Collaborate with SMEs to optimise workflows and system usage.
Backlog & Requirements Support
Manage and standardise JIRA backlog entries; contribute SME-informed user stories.
Work with Product Owner and Change Lead on requirements and acceptance criteria.
Support system readiness for releases and enhancements.
Process Mapping & Optimisation
Map, test, and document new business processes for TMP.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Training & Documentation
Develop user guides, training materials, and support documentation.
Provide input into training delivery for accuracy and relevance.
Data Integrity & Reporting
Monitor system performance and data quality; resolve reporting issues.
Ensure data structures support compliance and business reporting needs.
Stakeholder Engagement
Gather feedback from users and clarify system requirements.
Represent user perspectives in system discussions and change planning.
Desired Skills and Experience
In order to be considered for this fixed term role we are seeking the following skills and experience:
Essential - Experience in business operations, training administration, or education support. Strong understanding of business processes and system configuration. Demonstrated ability to provide SME input into system design and improvement. Experience with issue resolution, support, and stakeholder engagement. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Desired - Familiarity with TMPs, CRMs, or LMSs. Experience in medical education or membership-based organisations. Understanding of agile methodologies and backlog management. Experience contributing to training and change initiatives.
