Our 3-2-1 Hybrid Working Model

  • 3 days from anywhere in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand per week,  
  • 2 days from an RACP office location per week,  
  • 1 of the two days per week in office spent with your team.  

Job Description

The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) is a diverse and energetic organisation that provides services to support the delivery of training, continuing professional development, and health policy and advocacy on behalf of Fellows and Trainees, across Australia and New Zealand.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership to the Basic Training team who support Training Operations and their committees, as well as implementing RACP training programs, policies and procedures.  

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage the team (9), including performance management, recruitment, staff development, and coaching
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Basic Training programs
  • Implement education policies including the development of procedures and staff training.
  • Analyse and advise on complex training and trainee issues relating to the Training programs and trainees
  • Collaborate and work closely with counterparts in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand ensuring alignment where appropriate
  • Proactively advocate for allocated committees to adhere to College policy, procedures and strategy
  • Facilitate effective communication and consultation between all College units and these committees
  • Contribute to project management and process improvements in a constantly changing environment

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Leadership and team management experience 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including business writing and presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with a range of external and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines, managing a range of complex tasks in a changing work environment while maintaining an attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with own and other teams
  • A commitment to professional client service
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills
  • Professional experience in education, health or in a member-based organisation 
  • Proficiency in MS Office and high level of experience with tech systems
