Job Description

Help shape the future of physician learning

What if the learning you create today could influence how physicians practise tomorrow?

Join the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in this newly created role and play a key part in designing innovative educational resources that support physicians throughout their careers.

This is more than a content development role. It's an opportunity to shape new ways of learning, experiment with ideas, use data and feedback to improve experiences, and help build the next generation of physician education.

About the Role

As Program Development Officer, MEDLearn, you will lead the development of high-quality online learning resources and educational products that support the professional development and lifelong learning of physicians across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Working within our Professional Practice team, you'll collaborate with subject matter experts, clinicians and stakeholders to research, design and deliver evidence-based educational content that is engaging, practical and impactful.

You'll have the opportunity to take ideas from concept to creation – exploring what learners need, collaborating with experts, developing and testing solutions, and using evidence and insights to continually make them better.

What You Will Do

In this varied role you will:

  • Design and develop engaging online learning resources and educational products that meet the needs of physicians.
  • Lead consultation and co-design with physicians, committees and subject matter experts.
  • Research emerging trends, evidence and best practice to identify new opportunities for learning and innovation.
  • Manage projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring quality and timelines are met.
  • Analyse member engagement and program data to understand what is working and identify opportunities to do things differently.
  • Prototype, test and refine learning materials with users.
  • Build strong relationships across the College and with external stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports, recommendations and project updates for committees and leadership.
  • Contribute to new educational initiatives and support continuous innovation across MEDLearn.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

You’re someone who is energised by the opportunity to take a complex idea and turn it into something that is clear, engaging and genuinely useful.

You are curious about how people learn, comfortable working with different perspectives and enjoy bringing people together to create something better. You can move confidently between the detail and the bigger picture – managing a project one day, working with a subject matter expert the next, and using data and learner feedback to improve the experience.

You will bring:

  • Qualifications in Education, Learning Design or a related discipline.
  • Experience developing online learning or educational resources.
  • Strong project coordination and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to analyse information and provide sound recommendations.
  • A proactive approach with a passion for improving processes and outcomes.
  • Experience working with complex stakeholders or within a regulated environment (highly regarded).
  • Knowledge of the Australian healthcare or medical education environment, including the Medical Board of Australia (desirable).

Why join us?

At RACP, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to work that has a real impact on physicians, the health workforce and, ultimately, the communities they serve.

You'll join a team that values curiosity, collaboration and innovation, where your ideas can help shape how learning is designed and delivered.

If you're excited by the opportunity to create learning experiences that make a difference – and to help shape what physician learning looks like in the future – we'd love to hear from you.
