The Role
The Solutions Architect leads the design of technology solutions and provides architectural oversight throughout implementation and transition into operation. Furthermore, as a senior member of the team, it provides technical leadership and guidance on complex projects and problem resolution. The Solution Architect will partner with business stakeholders, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Project Managers and technology teams to translate business capabilities and requirements into pragmatic, scalable and supportable technology solutions. Clearly articulating architectural options and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including cost, risk, complexity, delivery impact and strategic alignment.
Accountabilities
Translate business and product requirements into solution architectures.
Ensure solutions conform to enterprise architecture principles, standards, reference architectures and technology roadmaps.
Prepare and present solution designs through the appropriate architecture governance process.
Identify and document architectural decisions, exceptions, risks, technical debt and dependencies
Develop and maintain detailed solution designs and technical documentation

Effectively estimate work effort, costs, and impact of solutions from a project perspective
Identify and implement improvement opportunities in conjunction with agreed business units
Inform, update and advise stakeholders of things related to technical risks, impacts, development processes, costs and efforts
Evaluate suitability of products and tools by conducting feasibility studies or proof of concept exercises
Work collaboratively with internal delivery teams and external technology partners to develop, review and assure solution architectures, ensuring vendor-proposed designs align with RACP architecture standards, security requirements, integration patterns and strategic technology direction.
