Job Description
About The Role
The Senior Executive Officer, Education Governance plays a key leadership role in ensuring effective education governance, planning and coordination across the Education, Learning and Assessment portfolio. The role leads a team responsible for supporting the College's education governance committees and decision-making processes, coordinating strategic and operational planning activities, and providing portfolio management support for key education initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
Lead evaluation of the new education governance model, including preparations and facilitation, and continuous improvement activities, e.g., enhancement of existing resources such as the Education Governance Hub.
Lead governance support and secretariat functions for major education governance bodies
Manage the operational administration and coordination of decision review processes for 3 lead education committees under the RACP Reconsideration, Review and Appeals (RRA) By-Law and associated policies.
Ensure decision review processes are conducted consistently, fairly and in accordance with governance requirements.
Support the ELA Executive team in the coordination of ELA strategic, operational and business portfolio planning activities.
Manage annual planning cycles, portfolio reporting and performance monitoring processes.
Lead and develop a team responsible for governance and planning functions.
Build and maintain effective relationships with senior leaders, committee Chairs, Fellows, trainees and College staff.
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
Significant experience in governance, portfolio management, program management or organisational planning.
Experience leading committees, governance processes or secretariat functions.
Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating teams in a complex organisational environment.
Strong understanding of governance, compliance and decision-making frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes through influence and collaboration.
Excellent written communication, stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
