Our 3-2-1 Hybrid Working model: 
- 3 days from anywhere in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand per week,  
- 2 days from an RACP office location per week,  
- 1 of the two days per week in office spent with your team.  

Job Description

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a key executive role responsible for leading the digital and information technology (IT) strategy, ensuring the alignment of digital initiatives with the College goals, and driving innovation to enhance overall business performance that leads to greater member satisfaction and outcomes. Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Develop and oversee delivery of the College’s digital strategy.
  • Drive digital change College-wide to enable data-driven improvement.
  • Partner with business leaders to deliver member-centric content and products.
  • Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of technology infrastructure.
  • Lead adoption and integration of new digital technologies.
  • Support development of IT strategic plan and oversee its implementation.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure understanding of College’s technological environment and requirements.
  • Expertise in IT infrastructure management, cybersecurity, data analytics, and digital transformation.

Desired Skills and Experience

The Person

The College operates in a complex stakeholder environment and the role requires a leader who is open, inclusive, collaborative and positive – capable of developing and executing IT strategies that drive business value and innovation in a large, complex, geographically dispersed membership-based, not for profit healthcare organisation. Key attributes and experience that will need to be demonstrated include:

  • Values-based leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a forward-thinking approach to technology adoption and innovation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Passionate about digital innovation.
  • Strives for excellence and end-user satisfaction.
  • Enjoys building positive relationships with stakeholders and team.
  • Demonstrates accountability, integrity, business insight, collaboration, and the ability to drive engagement and results.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant business discipline, MBA or similar highly regarded.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in senior digital and IT leadership roles.
  • Experience in education, health, not-for-profit, or member organisations.
  • Membership and post-nominals in a professional governance association.
